Wedding Beauty and Health Tips

Stress is a problem for almost every bride. Take care of yourself.

The most important health and beauty tip for a bride is to remember to relax to help relieve the stress. The closer your wedding day, the more stressed you will feel. If you want to look beautiful and have energy to enjoy the wedding, you need to take care of yourself. Getting too stressed can make you prone to colds and flues

Take a bath. Instead of using foams, which are detergent-based and dry out your skin, use fragrant oils. Use scented oils or bath salts to which blends of aromatherapy oils have been added.

When using bath oils remember that they are greatly condensed and can burn your skin if too much is used.

To help clear your airways and sinuses during a cold use 2-3 drops of thyme oil in your bath.

To ease your nerves after a stressful day:
10 drops rose oil
5 drops lavender oil
5 drops chamomile oil

To wake yourself up use:
10 drops grapefruit oil
5 drops lemon oil
5 drops juniper oil

By varying the temperature of the bathtub water, you can make your bath more therapeutic than just merely luxurious. If you want a sedative effect that will help you sleep better, set the water to 99-102F or (37-39C). For a stimulating effect make the water 97F (36C). At this temperature you will help recharge the central nervous system. (Tip from Organic Beauty by Josephine Fairley).

Going to a spa can also be relaxing. Bringing your friend(s) can make the experience even more enjoyable. As important as your wedding is, when you’re at a spa to relax from wedding planning, try to avoid the wedding topic altogether.

Make sure the spa is licensed and that it’s clean. Ask how often it is cleaned and when the massage table sheets are changed. Ask how often anything at the spa is changed or cleaned because the last thing you need is a skin problem.

A pedicure and manicure are great ways to take your mind off the everyday life stresses and you end up with beautiful nails at that.

Get a massage by a masseuse or friend. Your back, neck, and feet carry most of the stress and when those parts get tense they hurt.

Before going to bed, read a book. A book about anything but weddings will work best. It will help occupy your mind with something other than the wedding and daily life stresses. You will fall asleep easier and have nicer dreams.

Taking a short walk or swim are great ways to relieve stress and muscle pain.
